I am a visual storyteller who uses illustration, reportage, animation, puppet-making, hand lettering and bookbinding to create meaningful, fun, artistic outcomes for clients and my enjoyment as a creative person.
I am a visual storyteller based in rural Gloucestershire in a small village called Cam. I live opposite a horse paddock that inspires my daily creative practice, especially when the sun is out and the daffodils are blooming.
Unfortunately, I am now middle-aged and fast approaching fifty; however, the advantages this provides me fill me with love and hope for the future as I live with my lovely wife of over twenty years, Heather, and our two teenage daughters, Felicity and Elizabeth, two kittens and a couple of guinea pigs. For over fifteen years, I have been a full-time children's entertainer.
I returned to education about eight years ago, starting with functional Maths and English at a local community centre. By pushing myself, I have worked up to the very last stages of a BA Hons. in Illustration at the University of Gloucestershire. My creative journey started at sixteen when I left school and started a two-year City and Guilds course in furniture making at Stroud College, where I fell in love with woodcarving, which sparked the seed of becoming an International Puppet maker in Punch and Judy style figures.
For several years, I became the Editor of The Swazzle, a magazine for the Punch and Judy Fellowship. I enjoy singing in a local church choir, reading sci-fi and fantasy books and combining my creative curiosity with a love of discovering the weird and wonderful things previous generations got up to and how these traditions and customs can inspire my creative outcomes.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and carry on with our creative endeavours.
